A Korean dinner

   So yesterday we got a dinner invitation from our Korean friends. I have so little knowledge on the Korean culture and cuisine and I was very exited to try some traditional food. On the other hand I felt so bad as I could not cook anything traditional on my side. I mean...what was I supposed to do - I suck at cooking, I've never made a Bulgarian dish in my life and... seriously, was I supposed to cook "bob" or something to foreigners knowingly that our food is very heavy and full of fat. I still remember that Korean guy in Veliko Tarnovo who said he hates everything about our country especially the food XD. He was hilarious, poor thing, I still can't figure out why his company would send him to Bulgaria without asking him if he's interested in the culture or even the trip (actually it's a whole adventure to live in Bulgaria :D ).
    So it took me almost one hour to figure out what to bring to the dinner. I decided to go for my classical chicken with vegetables and soy souse (instead of teriyaki) and...whoa.... "rice with milk and cinnamon". "Мляко с ориз" that is. Not that this is a traditional Bulgarian dish but it's something we all eat and it's simple to make. So I tried making it. For the first time in my life. If you are wondering what happened, well, I somehow managed to make it taste like the traditional rice with milk though I got a little help.

Living in Danmark - week 3 -

  It's been a while but one must understand that it's really hard for me to keep up with my new life. Too much socializing I would say. ^_^'''
   So, greetings from Denmark - my new home. To sum it up - it's windy, clean, full of cheese and beer and flat as fuck. It's been 3 weeks already and I am really sorry to say it but I still prefer Japan :D. You would ask why and I would just go with "It feels like Europe". Yes, this is Europe, it doesn't matter if you live on the east or west, north or south of it, it's still the European Union. And I tend to think all people are alike no matter where they live and despite the cultural differences. Down to the core we are all alike and this is what makes us strive to be different.
   Anyway, let's go back to Denmark. When we arrived we were so afraid of rain and wind that I brought only winter clothing but Aalborg greeted us with sunny hot weather and remained so till today. Though due to the flat terrain the wind here is very strong and I always get the feeling that if I let go of my hat I will never see it again :}
    The city itself is a wonderful place. Here are some pictures of Aalborg day and night.

 We met some wonderful people from all around the world. ^_^ As expected being in an international environment is amazing! However I do find some problems in immersing into the Danish culture mainly because I hate beer and so far everyone's been insisting that living here is all about beer and partying. I cannot really believe this but I cannot argue with it either. :} As you can see from the big photo above there are a lot of bars at one place. For some reason the street is called "Virgin Ane street" and it's the place where every house is a bar. (and one striptease bar :D).
   Living and studying here is a whole new experience. I would not comment on the prices as we all know how expensive a high living standard county can be :). Though I would like to talk about living with so many international (and Danish) students. Communication sometimes can be quite a challenge due to the cultural differences. Today I realized I had 4 perfect years of studying my bachelor degree and now I am entering hell where everyone has a completely different view of the world and doesn't care even a little bit about what you think. My boyfriend would say:" Welcome to the real world". Well shit! I hate it >>"" How am I supposed to do my project work with 4 more people when I cannot really get to know them. I do not even have the time to get to know them o_O''' When everyone comes from a completely different backgrounds it's really hard to stand on equal grounds.
   And so on...I am not complaining I am making sure some people get to understand that I am not in Paradise and I am not having fun all the time as they think. I get to hear that a lot lately and it's really frustrating. -___-''' I like it, It's good but it's not perfect.
   So it's time to torture myself with learning Danish. Till next time~ :O
